Join Us for the 2025 NIDA-NIAAA Frontiers in Addiction Research Mini-Convention in San Diego!
The annual 2025 NIDA-NIAAA Frontiers in Addiction Research Mini-Convention is a collaborative event hosted by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) Neuroscience Workgroup. This year’s Mini-Convention will take place on November 14, 2025, in San Diego, California, in conjunction with the Society for Neuroscience annual meeting.
The Mini-Convention serves as a dynamic forum for the presentation and discussion of cutting-edge topics in neuroscience and addiction research. The program features mini-symposia that highlight areas of emerging or significant scientific interest, emphasizing innovative research strategies and the latest technological advances, and fostering critical dialogue on the implications of new findings across the fields of substance use and addiction.
A key feature of the Mini-Convention is the Early Career Investigator Showcase (ECIS), which spotlights the work of outstanding early-stage and junior investigators conducting pioneering research in alcohol, substance use, and addiction science.
A highlight of the event will be the Jacob P. Waletzky Memorial Award Lecture, presented by the 2025 award recipient. This prestigious award honors a young scientist (within 15 years of receiving a Ph.D. or M.D.) whose independent research has made substantial contributions to the understanding of drug addiction.
Don't miss this opportunity to engage with leading scientists, explore innovative research, and support the next generation of addiction researchers.
The agenda for the Mini-Convention will include:
