NEW Online Course: Addressing and Preventing Adult Sexual Misconduct in the School Setting
Does your education agency have policies and procedures on adult sexual misconduct (ASM)? Are they, along with your school emergency operations plan (EOP), aligned with national, state, and local recommendations? To support K-12 school safety teams in protecting students, the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Safe and Supportive Schools and its REMS TA Center are pleased to provide a NEW online course: Addressing and Preventing Adult Sexual Misconduct (ASM) in the School Setting.
Course Objectives
This 30- to 45-minute free online course aims to help K-12 school (public and nonpublic) personnel, school district administrators and staff, state/regional education agency personnel, and community partners develop a greater understanding of ASM in the school setting to enhance preparedness related to this critical topic. Audio narration accompanies an engaging visual format with interactive features such as learning activities, quizzes, and practice scenarios. This online course will help you
- Define ASM.
- Recognize ASM in a school setting.
- Describe the federally recommended six-step planning process for addressing and preventing ASM.
- Learn through practice to identify when reporting potential ASM in a school setting may be required.
