Post-Conference Workshop

In conjunction with the 23rd NIMH Conference on Mental Health Services Research (MHSR 2016), NIMH will hold a post-conference New Investigators Workshop. NIMH is offering a select group of investigators new to the field of mental health services research the opportunity to:

  1. Participate in a day-long career development workshop on August 3, 2016, at the National Institutes of Health Neuroscience Center Building, Rockville, MD. The workshop will be led by experts from NIMH and academia.
     
  2. Present their work at a poster session at the MHSR 2016: Harnessing Science to Strengthen the Public Health Impact, August 1-2, at the Bethesda Marriott in Bethesda, MD. Note: MHSR 2016 attendance is free but requires separate registration.

 

This workshop is intended for individuals who are currently receiving or within 5 years post-completion of doctoral training or re-training, or medical residency, who intend to pursue a career in: 1) mental health services research or 2) the interface of services and effectiveness research. Priority will be given to applicants who have never been an NIMH principal investigator on a research (R) or career (K) award. Applicants must submit a one-page description of career goals, a poster abstract, curriculum vitae, and a letter of recommendation from a department chair or established research mentor, using the instructions provided here.
